Why does the same pattern feel different when one note is louder than the rest? What makes a repeating loop groove instead of drone? A cycle, an accent and a repetition are all it takes to make a pattern feel alive.

This workshop centers on ways in which a cycle and its repetition can be created using modular systems. The session explores distinct patterns of sounds in order to identify both the repetition of elements that are at play, and the musical effect it creates.
