Why does a voice behind a wall sound muffled? What changes when you cup your hands over your mouth and speak? Every sound carries a spectrum of frequencies, and a filter decides which ones you hear.

This session presents a general approach to how modular systems alter the frequency spectrum of signals and sounds passing through them. Attendees explore ways in which they can enhance and transform the quality of the sounds they listen to, and the capability of modular systems for expanding their musical ideas about tone and intervals.
