That Which Is Fundamental comes to The Kitchen

Seth Colter Walls of The New York Times wrote about Julius Eastman: That Which Is Fundamental at The Kitchen in New York, a three-week festival modeled on our Philadelphia retrospective and organized by artist Tiona Nekkia McClodden and Dustin Hurt, director of Bowerbird, with The Kitchen’s curatorial team. The piece centers on Chris McIntyre’s realization of Eastman’s Trumpet for TILT Brass, rebuilt from a 1971 recording and two score pages that survived in a photograph by Ron Hammond.
